As the chairman of the organizing committee of the conference, vice-rector for scientific affair and informatization of the Herzen University Mikhail Yurievich Puchkov. He greeted the participants on behalf of the university administration. In his speech, Mikhail Yurievich emphasized the exceptional importance of the academic community in general and scientific and practical conferences, in particular, in providing scientific, methodological and intellectual support for the development of the sports sector through the implementation of educational programs and the creation of sites for professional discussion of problems by specialists and heads of sports organizations and bodies management of physical culture and sports.
The keynote speech was made by the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, the chairman of the profile commission on physical culture and sport, Yuri Vasilyevich Avdeev. He presented statistics on the participation of citizens in mass sports and in the sport of high achievements, regional achievements in the development of the sports material and technical base and its involvement for events at various levels. "Sport is a priority task of the social policy of the Government of St. Petersburg, so we always need specialists in the field of sports management," Yuri Vasilievich added.
He was joined by the head of the department for sports and mass work of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of St. Petersburg Elena G. Razumakhina. She also spoke about the prospects for the development of mass sports in the region and the committee's plans related to the FIFA-2018 World Cup.
On behalf of foreign participants, the Chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of the Uralsk of the West Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Azamat Madyarovitch Nurmaganbetov, made a welcoming speech. Azamat Madjarovich noted the need for an international exchange of experience, especially between countries that have a lot in common in the approaches to organizing sports and also many similar problems that need to be discussed in order to find effective solutions.
In her speech, the chairman of the Committee for Entrepreneurship in the field of sports industry, physical culture and sports of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the general director of the Regional Academy of Physical Culture and Sports Natalia Vlasova told about the development of the sports industry and the role of integration of legislative and executive power, business , the academic community and volunteers to enhance the effectiveness of Russian sports and sports business, maintaining a balance of interests for all interested parties.
Associate Professor of the West Kazakhstan State University. M. Utemisova (Uralsk, Republic of Kazakhstan) Vladimir Leonidovich Melnikov is an invariable participant of all six conferences "Management in Sports". Vladimir Leonidovich made a report "The development of mass sports in the Republic of Kazakhstan as an indicator of management effectiveness", in which he cited comparative analysis of the state of the sports sector in Kazakhstan, Russia and other countries, demonstrated the connection between sport and life expectancy and biological age.
Director of the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of the RSPU. A.I. Herzen Yuri Yakovlevich Lobanov shared with the participants the experience of organizing the sports and athletic activities of students in the RSPU them. A.I. The project of creating the "Interactive Museum of Sports" in St. Petersburg, which was supported by the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of St. Petersburg, was presented by Nina Novikova, the chairman of the St. Petersburg Public Sports Volunteer Movement, the manager of the media center of the Government of St. Petersburg, and Vladimir Timchenko, a specialist the sports center of the Office of the interuniversity student campus, the graduate of the graduate school of the Russian State Pedagogical University. Students, undergraduates and teachers of NIIT ITMO, SPbGEU, as well as the Institute of Economics and Management of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Modern ICT allowed for American colleagues from the Indiana University (Bloomington) to take part in the conference. The results of the researches presented by a videoconference format by the PhD student Alex Chinhoo Gang and former student Dr. Namhun Lim.
Alex Chinhoo Gang presented his research “Talent Identification and Recruitment: Examining the Implementation of a Public Tryout System in Competitive Youth Soccer”, as a specific Korean approach useful for taking into account anywhere.
Dr. Namhun Lim presented research “Using multilevel modelling to analyze spectator determinants: an investigation of attendance variables in professional baseball” with new ideas about spectators attendance based on Korean experience.
New communications established between the participants - representatives of government, business and the academic community, colleagues agreed on joint projects and interaction was an interesting effect of the conference.
Moderator of the conference Victor Timchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Education Management and Personnel Management, Member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Sport Communication, summarized the results of the work and thanked the participants for their interest and active participation, wished further successes in the science and practice of sports management.
