International scholars conference «World War II: victory echo»

September 2010 will be the 65th anniversary since the ending World War II being a logical topic of interest for historians, politicians and teachers.
The State Russian Herzen Pedagogical University (Saint-Petersburg) is holding an international scholars conference on the topic “World War II: victory echo”, which becomes continuation of the discussion which have taken place in 2009 on conference “World War II as a problem of the national memory”.
The followed issues are expected to be discussed there:
- Map of the World after World War II
- World War II and the analysis of war outcomes in Eastern and Western Europe
- Who has Won and Who has Lost: a Post-Soviet area perspective
- The Great World War in the view of collective and individual conciousness
- Teaching of the World War II history
- World War II victory memorials and memorial cemeteries
- Museums perspective on the war topic
- Unknown facts and materials concerning the World War II
Collected presentations of participants will be published based on the forum results.
Application deadline is the 01.08. 2010
Languages used in the conference are Russian and English.
